NEVER SPEAK LIE

Image result for NEVER SPEAK LIE
Honesty is the best policy- everybody might have heard this citation at least once in life. Although truth might hurt someone a lot but in a long term it’s the finest path that could be chosen. One just need to be intelligent and smart to say the truth in a way it does not hurt anybody’s feeling. There are certain lies called as white lies which are pivotal and allowable. But lies which can make people take in the wrong direction or which keep them under wrong impression. Everybody lies in life. But it’s sometime difficult to speak the truth.

But whatever the reason speaking lie always have some disadvantages. Here are the top ten reasons why one should avoid lying:

10) Can affect the health:
People who lie feel the guilt and keep the secrets which are not very pleasant and can cause health complications. In unusual condition one occasion of altering the truth can give you a stroke. It can also cause congestive heart failure or coronary artery disease.

9) Your life will be stressful:
As explained above speaking lie can affect the health. In starting lying releases hormones of stress. They are similar to the ones released when we fight with someone. Increase in this type of hormone causes problems such as increase in heart rate. It can also cause increase in breathing. Along with this heart pressure increases when lying. All these problems along with the diseases which can be caused due to lying make the life stressful. Also an unhealthy man is more stressed than the healthier one. So avoiding lies can do both the things that is it will make you healthier and also happier.

8) No one to share:
A liar never trusts anyone else except himself. The liar always faces the punishment that he is neither believed by someone nor does he believe anyone. We have the tendency of sharing with the person whom we are emotionally attached to and whom can we trust. But trusts feeling with liars are very rare. So they do not have anyone to share the feelings neither do anyone share their feelings with them. Knowing how self-righteous and proud one will feel when he finally wrap the arms around the truth is another very big reason to never lie.

7) Liars become habitual of lying:
According to a journal (Consciousness and Cognition) published in 2010 “Frequent lie makes lying easier and frequent truth makes lying more difficult” or we can say that “we reap what we sow”. It can be explained in a way that the more we lie more we get prone to lying and one also finds it easier to lie. In general also we find things easier when we repeatedly do them. Similarly we will eventually find lying easier and delightful than saying he truth.

6) Need to remember a lot:
When one lies they have to remember who they bluffed, when they did and what was the lie about. You will always find Lying burdensome and heavy if you are not a sociopath. The burden is about the discovery of the truth, revenge and swarm of negative outcomes which could possibly occur. By the time you start predicting what you might have done and then start to adjust to your plan, fear and terror may become virulent.

5) No feeling of accomplishment:
It has been found that the probability of failing of liars is slightly greater than the one who speaks the truth. Even if one succeeds with a lie, he will always be deprived and depressed with the feeling of accomplishment. Triumph originated with a lie is filled with boredom, guilt and self contempt. The hollow victory does nothing to increase self esteem rather it undermines the self image since the success included depriving others with a impartial shot and not with a bluff.

4) People won’t rely on you:
The disadvantage of not speaking the truth is that in long run of life your partner, companions, friends and the people you live around with will not believe you and trust you. Eventually when people get to know that you lied they leave you. So to warn you liars you will have to live a lonely life with no one around to trust you.

3) Reduces self-respect:
When the person finds that you lied to him he will never believe you again even if you tell him the truth next time. People have big mouth and the lie you said to a single person will never remain to that person and after knowing the truth people will ill talk about you which will reduce your self-respect.

2) Lies can mislead:
Misleading is when someone does not completely lie, but still hold someone to believe in the untruth. People might have baked a dish in their thoughts from the lies you said which can be heartbroken if truth comes out. Under certain circumstances a misleading statement can lead to social and legal sanction. It can also be considered to be a part of any sort of conspiracy.

1)Breaks relationships:
When someone lies in a relationship he/she destroys it. Lying is a counter communication that awfully erodes the foundation of the relationship. It’s the bomb that eventually destroys the relationship. Dishonesty might seem like a protective device to the person whom they are lying to but in reality they are protecting themselves. There is no relationship or love without trust. This is the base of any relationship.

DEPRESSION AMONG STUDENTS

Depression among students
Related image
Introduction:
Depression among university students is extremely prevalent and widespread problem across the country [1–3]. University students are a special group of people that are enduring a critical transitory period in which they are going from adolescence to adulthood and can be one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. Trying to fit in, maintain good grades, plan for the future, and be away from home often causes anxiety for a lot of students [4]. As a reaction to this stress, some students get depressed. They find that they cannot get themselves together. They may cry all of the time, skip classes, or isolate themselves without realizing they are depressed. Previous studies reported that depression in university students is noted around the world [5–7] and the prevalence seems to be increasing [8]. The average age of onset is also on the decline, making depression a particularly salient problem area for university student populations [8]. Over two-thirds of young people do not talk about or seek help for mental health problems [9]. In Iran, preliminary studies on emotional distress have emerged in recent years including depression in Iranian university. Within the abovementioned background, the aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of depression among university students using meta-analysis method.

Students’ age and depression :
In terms of students’ age, some studies in particular looked at the relationship between age and depression in students. A study on depression among Malaysian university students pointed out that the prevalence of depression was higher in older students compared to younger students (Shamsuddin et al., 2013). This result also was emphasized in other studies; senior university students have greater rates of depression relative to beginners or first year students (Bostanci et al., 2005; Khawaja & Duncanson, 2008). In contrast, studies in this area (Bayram and Bilgel, 2008; Tomoda et al., 2000) have shown that students in their final year of university have lower levels of depression compared to new students. It is hypothesised that this difference in the above findings might be due to using different samples of students, and different methods of measuring depression. It is somewhat surprising that no relationship was found in this condition. One study indicated that the level of depression in older students is nearly the same as younger students (Lester, 1990). This would indicate there is no significant relationship between a student’s age and the prevalence of depression.
Prevention of depression:
 Depression is one of the most prevalent problems in the mental health of students at different educational levels, such as high school, college and university (Arslan et al., 2009). Previous studies have proposed that psychological morbidity, particularly depression, is a common disorder among students (Adewuya, Ola, Olutayo, Mapayi & Oginni, 2006; Dahlin et al., 2005). Studies of psychological problems encountered by counselling centres revealed that depression was one of the five most common problems among college students. They highlighted that depression accounted for 39% of problems, a higher rate than anxiety, problems with romantic relationships, and the self-esteem of students across different settings (Erdur-Baker, Aberson, Borrow & Draper, 2006; Green, Lowry & Kopta, 2003).

Introduction. Depression is one of the four major diseases in the world and is the most common cause of disability from diseases. The aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of depression among Iranian university students using meta-analysis method. Materials and Methods. Keyword depression was searched in electronic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, MAGIran, Medlib, and SID. Data was analyzed using meta-analysis (random-effects model). Heterogeneity of studies was assessed using the 𝐼 2 index. Data was analyzed using STATA software Ver.10. Results. In 35 studies conducted in Iran from 1995 to 2012 with sample size of 9743, prevalence of depression in the university students was estimated to be 33% (95% CI: 32–34). The prevalence of depression among boys was estimated to be 28% (95% CI: 26–30), among girls 23% (95% CI: 22–24), single students 39% (95% CI: 37–41), and married students 20% (95% CI: 17–24). Metaregression model showed that the trend of depression among Iranian students was flat. Conclusions. On the whole, depression is common in university students with no preponderance between males and females and in single students is higher than married ones.
Methodology:
This study protocol is structured in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta Analyses (PRISMA). The PRISMA contains a 27-item checklist which is aimed at facilitating the development and reporting of robust systematic review protocols [20]. The systematic review was registered on the PROSPERO database (CRD42017064148). Information sources Pub med, Psych INFO, EMBASE and African Index Medicus , BIREME, LILACS, and MEDLINE databases will be searched for studies reporting primary data on common mental disorders (depression and/or anxiety) among students in universities and colleges within LMICs. For this study, LMICs will be defined using the World Bank Country Lending Group list for the year 2017 [21]. Search strategy In light of the paucity of studies in LMICs, no time restrictions will be imposed on the search. Controlled vocabulary terms will be appropriately incorporated for each database. We will use the terms to search for three main concepts namely (1) undergraduate university/college students, (2) prevalence of depression or anxiety, and (3) low- and middle-income countries. A full search strategy for one database is displayed in Appendix 1. Reference lists of retrieved articles will also be examined and additional articles added if they meet the inclusion criteria. Eligibility criteria Studies will be included if they report the prevalence of depression or anxiety among university/college students undertaking undergraduate degree programs. Study types will include descriptive and analytical studies such as cross-sectional and longitudinal studies, case-series analysis, and randomized control trials that include data on prevalence of depression or anxiety. We will include studies in all languages, which will be translated into English. Due to paucity of research on depression or anxiety in most LMICs, the studies will not be excluded based on how they measured depression or anxiety since it is important to understand how these conditions are being measured in different settings.

Data extraction;
Two reviewers will independently screen titles and then abstracts of included articles using a piloted data extraction sheet (Appendix 2). Examples of the type of data that will be extracted include study design, setting, study sample sizes, assessments used for diagnosing depression or anxiety, and prevalence of depression or anxiety. Where there will be doubts on whether a title is relevant, it will be included for retrieval. Reconciliation of disagreements on which article(s) to include will be resolved by discussion and consensus between the two reviewers, or mediation by a third person. Assessment of methodological quality
Assessment of methodological assessment;
 All retrieved papers eligible for selection will undergo an assessment process conducted by two independent reviewers. Standardized critical appraisal tools will be utilized in the quality assessment. In this study, four critical appraisal tools [22] will be used to assess for quality depending on the study design. These are as follows: 1. The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Prevalence Critical Appraisal tool [23] 2. The JBI critical appraisal checklist for randomized control/pseudo-randomized trials 3. The JBI critical appraisal checklist for descriptive/case series 4. The JBI critical appraisal checklist for comparable cohort/case control. These tools were developed primarily for use in systematic reviews. Where there are disagreements between the two reviewers, a third reviewer will be engaged and discussions among the three reviewers will be used to resolve the differences.
Data analysis;
Data analysis and synthesis Meta-analysis of the prevalence of depression and anxiety among university students will be conducted using a random effects model which will generate pooled prevalence with their respsiective 95% CIs. Analyses will be conducted in Stata 14. The results from the review will be summarized and presented in text, Appendix 3, and tables.
Statistical analysis;
The random effects model was used for combining results of studies in meta-analysis. Variance for each study was calculated using the binomial distribution formula. The presence of heterogeneity was determined by the Der Simonian -Laird (DL) approach [12]. Significance level was < 0.05 were considered as statistically significant.

Discussion:
This systematic review will be conducted as the initial step of a longitudinal study on common mental disorders among university students in Zimbabwe. The review aims to explore the prevalence, antecedents, and consequences of depression and anxiety among university students in LMICs. The results from the review will inform and guide health care practitioners and researchers on appropriate and feasible interventions aimed at enhancing the psychological well-being of undergraduate students in resource constrained settings. In this systematic review, we have fully described our search strategy, study selection, data summary, and analysis to allow sensitivity analysis of any aspect of our approach. We have included every study that to our knowledge satisfies our inclusion criteria and employed techniques of estimation that allow integration of studies with high heterogeneity. In situations with high between-study heterogeneity (93.3%), the use of random-effects models is recommended as it produces study weights that primarily reflect the between study variation and thus provides close-to-equal weighting. In the current study, the Beck depression inventory (BDI) has been utilized to detect the prevalence of depression among university students. Although it is not designed for diagnostic purposes, its epidemiologic utility has been evaluated in several studies, which concluded that it is a reliable and valid instrument for detecting depressive disorders in nonclinical populations. Several studies support the BDI’s usefulness in measuring and predicting depression in adolescent samples.

CHILD ABUSE

CHILD ABUSE;Image result for child abuse
Any recent act or failure to act on the part of a parent or caretaker which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation
OR
An act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm
WHAT IS CHILD ABUSE;
Child abuse includes any threatening or violent interaction of physical, psychological or sexual nature that may cause physical or psychological harm to the child. This includes neglect and withholding essential aid, medical care and education. Sexual and physical abuse are forms of physical violence; in addition, forms of mental abuse also exist. Forced marriage at a very young age and ritual circumcision of girls are also forms of child abuse. Children have the right to protection from all forms of maltreatment, abuse, neglect and violence.
WHERE DOES CHILD ABUSE OCCUR;
Sadly enough, child abuse is common in many countries. In 2013, Terre des Hommes supported 32 projects to counter abuse in countries such as Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Bangladesh, India, Bolivia, Indonesia and Cambodia.
ABUSE IN CHILD PAKISTAN;
Above 1,300 child sexual abuse cases reported in Pakistan within six months

The report by NGO specifically took into consideration the incidents of sexual violence against children between January and June this year and concluded that the almost a shocking 1,304 cases had been reported during the mentioned period.
It went on to add that as many as 729 girls and 575 boys suffered sexual abuse of some kind between Jan-Jun 2019.
The report revealed that there had been 652 report cases in Punjab, 458 in Sindh, 32 in Balochistan, whereas, 51 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, reports of sexual abuse pertaining to underage children amounted to 90 in Islamabad, 18 in Azad Kashmir and 3 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The report further mentioned that as many as 50 children became victims of sexual abuse in Lahore alone.
It was also revealed that as many as 12 minor girls and boys suffered sexual abuse in Madrassahs
TYPES OF CHILD ABUSE;
·       Physical abuse
·       Sexual abuse
·       Emotional abuse/psychological abuse
·       Neglect abuse
PHYSICAL ABUSE;
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Child Physical Abuse as any act that causes physical harm to the child. This may take the form of actual interaction or lack of interaction by a person in charge of the child to protect him/her from actual or potential harm. The type of injuries includes severe beating, shaking, burns, fractures, attempted suffocation or strangulation or abusive use of drugs to a child or adolescent.
SEXUAL ABUSE;
CSA is the involvement of children in sexual activity which they cannot fully comprehend as they are developmentally immature and unprepared for it. The consent of the child has no moral or legal implications . In CSA the exposure of children to sexual act is inappropriate for child’s age and psychosocial development. Sexual abuse can occur with or without physical contact.
Without Physical Contact: includes passing of sexual comments or verbal sexual abuse, exhibitionism, masturbation, pornography and voyeurism.
With Physical Contact: Includes kissing, hugging or touching in a sexual way, fondling, oral sex, anal or vaginal penetration, molestation (attempted rape or sodomy).
EMOTIONAL ABUSE;
Emotional abuse happens when people consistently say things and behave in a way that conveys to the child that they are inadequate, unloved, worthless, or only valued as far as the other person's needs are concerned.
This can have a profound, long-term impact on the child.Some examples are
  • not allowing children to express their views and opinions
  • ridiculing what they say
  • silencing them
  • frequently shouting at or threatening them
  • mocking the way they are or how they try to communicate
  • giving a child the "silent treatment" as a punishment
  • limiting physical contact
  • telling them they are "no good" or "a mistake"
  • preventing normal social interaction with peers and others
  • ill-treating another person in front of the child for example, through domestic violence
  • bullying, including online bullying
  • "emotional blackmail"
NEGLECT ABUSE;
Child neglect is when a parent or caregiver persistently fails to meet the basic physical and psychological needs of a child, resulting in impairment of the child's health or development.
Some overlap exists between the definitions of emotional abuse and emotional neglect. There are three basic types of neglect; physical neglect, educational neglect, and emotional neglect.
Physical Neglect
Failure to provide food, clothing appropriate for the weather, supervision, a home that is hygienic and safe, and/or medical care, as needed.
Educational Neglect
Failure to enroll a school-age child in school or to provide necessary special education. This includes allowing excessive absences from school.
Emotional Neglect
Failure to provide emotional support, love, and affection. This includes neglect of the child's emotional needs and failure to provide psychological care, as needed.

CHILD PROTECTION;
Child protection is a concept that aims to safeguard children from Economic exploitation, physical and sexual abuse, and effects of war, neglect, abandonment, maltreatment and Discrimination. It also includes provision of proper care and /or rehabilitation for vulnerable children. Child Protection is about “protecting every right of every child”. Pakistan is both nationally and internationally committed to fully protect the rights of its children. It has ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990 which is the most comprehensive document enshrining all fundamental rights of children. The Constitution of Pakistan lays out a range of rights in regard to children. The first goal of National Vision 2025 is “Putting People First, Development of Human and Social Capital”. This can be best achieved by ensuring empowerment and human resource development processes starting at birth and carried through childhood and adolescence. The State bears the primary responsibility to create a preventive and protective environment for children through legislation, policymaking and institutional reform. It is now over a quarter of century that Pakistan signed the CRC [19]. According to CRC the state has to develop a child protection system to ensure optimum child development and protection. Conventions required legislation to make the CRC law of the land. Till date, Pakistan has no comprehensive children acts or enabling law with regard to the CRC, as a result the Convention cannot be directly applied in the courts. Relevant legislation on child protection like, Child Protection (Criminal Laws Amendment) Bill, 2009The Child Marriages Restraint (Amendment) Bill, 2009, Juvenile Justice System Ordinance, 2000 etc. are in its various stages of implementation.
CHILD ABUSE IN KASUR;
The Kasur child sexual abuse scandal is a series of child sexual abuses that occurred in Hussain Khanwala village in Kasur DistrictPunjabPakistan from 2006 to 2014, culminating in a major political scandal in 2015. After the discovery of hundreds of video clips showing children performing forced sex acts, various Pakistani media organizations estimated that 280 to 300 children, most of them male, were victims of sexual abuse.[1] The scandal involved an organized crime ring that sold child pornography to porn sites, and blackmailed and extorted relatives of the victims.
The scandal caused nationwide outrage,[  among allegations that the Punjab police and Malik Ahmad Saeed Khan, Kasur's Member of the Provincial Assembly from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), were involved in an attempted cover-up of the abuse.[3]
It is cited by both news agencies and government departments as the largest child abuse scandal in Pakistan's history.[4] Besides large-scale public condemnation, 50 Pakistani clergy and religious scholars issued a fatwa (religious decree) for capital punishment of the culprits, and demanded that the government console the victims and their parents

CONCLUSION:
Pakistan still lacks a legal definition of child abuse, neglect or violence (CAN & violence). In most of the instances a definition put forward by the World Health Organization is being followed. There exist no official source of data on CAN& violence. Mandatory reporting does not exist [25]. Although, a number of action plan, bill and act are in their various stages of approval and implementation, still Pakistan has far to go in child protection. Being signatory to CRC the prime responsibility lies with the state, but the parents and society need to show their commitments and responsibility too. "There is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with children. There is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respected, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free from fear and want and that they can grow up in peace.

Social media platforms may come in different forms such as blogs, business forums, podcasts, microblogs, photo sharing, product/service review, weblogs etc.
Studies have shown that quite a good number of people spend 25% of their time on social networking platforms, this goes further to show how relevant and popular social media platforms have become in recent times. The importance of social Media can be seen in several fields such as business, entertainment, food, lifestyle, welfare and a host of others. It is important to any business because as an entrepreneur you own a brand and with the help of social media networking companies keep in touch with their customers and get valuable information about them which may increase their brand value. Most of the entrepreneur and marketers have successfully used this platform when it comes to reaching potential clients. Social Media Today argue that the purpose of social media marketing is to build a brand and increase a brand's visibility, through building relationships and communicating with potential customers

Importance of social Media Now a Day:
  • Nowadays above 85% of all businesses have a dedicated social media platform as part of their marketing strategy.
  • Nearly 58% of businesses that have used social media marketing for over 3 years and have reported an increase in sales during this period.
  • Almost 60% of marketers are devoting the equivalent of a full work day to social media marketing for development and maintenance.
You will find over millions of users on social media sites today, sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook Messanger, WeChat, and WhatsApp have made a big impact on people's life. Not only sharing photo's and information but trades and business have also flourished. The numbers are ever rising on the social media sites, the mass number of users on each social platform clearly indicates how important is social media in today's world, it has changed the entire concept in the field of Information and Communication.

Why we need social media platform today:-
There are several reasons why you need to be on a Social Media platform today.
  • Communication:
Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google + has made it easy to contact and message anyone just by searching for their names online. Smartphones have also played a very big role, previously you needed to have a PC or a laptop, but now you can be in touch with all your friends and relative on the move, even managing the business on the move is very common.
  • Photo sharing:
With the advent of Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, one can now share photos about exciting moments of our lives with friends and family members miles away from us. People were deprived of such things in the past and now they are just a click away from sharing the loving moments with their loved ones sitting miles away.
  • Awareness Campaign:
When it comes to raising funds or helping poor, social media network is always seen as a big platform to raise millions of dollars for charity or different awareness campaign such as the Boston bombing victims, where nearly about 200,000 dollars was raised.
  • Promotion:
Promotion on Social Media sites has gained a lot of confidence in the world of business and entertainment, people can promote their work and increase the fan base by sharing information about their events and themselves. Through this platform, they can raise funds and monetize their works.
Also, entrepreneurs can get information about what the people feel about their products through reviews.
Compare a filter promoting new laundry detergent or brand new coffee shop, in your mail box with watching a video of the same promotion in your YouTube account.
Which Characters of social media that make media unique?
Discussed below are some of the characteristics that make social media so unique.
o    Social media is easily accessible and it’s also the meeting point of today’s internet savvy audience.
o    Major portion of younger generation, teenagers and middle aged people, are major percentage of the total social media user population.
o    Social media opens possibilities of direct access to clients without any third party intervention.
o    Advertising through social media is pretty cost friendly as compared to costs incurred by print, TV or other traditional media.
o    Social media also helps in search engine optimization and increase in rankings of any company websites.
Above characteristics are crucially important for any business in today’s world. Communication level and engagement of clients go to different levels altogether when you are using this medium. Wondering why? Here is an example.
One seems more interesting?
Which one tends to gain your attention and consequentially lead you to buy that laundry detergent or visit that coffee house to see what they have to offer? Undoubtedly it is the video. Lifeless flier lying in your mail box can be easily tossed into garbage.
Conclusion:
To conclude, I would say social media is a big platform not only for promotion or marketing but one can also reach out millions of people and share their views, through social media every person is aware of what is happening around them. But like any other theory, social media platform may also have certain disadvantages.
